Join us in our South Somerset home for a North Indian Street food workshop.

During this half day Indian street food workshop, you will learn how to make the traditional street food dishes eaten across Punjab and the rest of the world.

Taught by Indian mother and daughter, Surinder and Safia, who have over  65 years experience between them.

You will learn how to make these North Indian street food dishes…

  • Vegetarian samosas
  • Gol Guppe (also know as Pani Puri)
  • Amritsari fish.

What will you get at our street food cookery workshop?

  • Access to culinary knowledge only found within Indian families, learning traditional techniques in the style that Indian mothers teach their daughters.
  • An open and relaxed learning environment where you can ask questions and are given culinary advice on how to transfer these skills to suit your kitchen facilities, as well as your lifestyle.
  • Small groups (maximum of 8 people to a workshop)
  • Preparing the dishes by yourself, under expert supervision, hands-on, with no sharing or solely by demonstration.
  • No hidden fees or charges.
  • The workshop price include your ingredients, equipment, tuition, and refreshments.

Dietaries

Vegans & Dairy-free:
The filling for the Samosas and the Gol Guppe/Pani Puri are always made using oil instead of ghee to adapt for any vegans or dairy-free.
The samosa dough is adapted for each individual. The alternative for the Amritsari Fish that we use is sweet potato.

Gluten-free:  Not suitable for gluten-free as both Samosas and the Gol Guppe/Pani Puri use wheat flour. Only the Amritsari Fish uses Gram flour (Chickpeas)

I really enjoyed the workshop, I'm glad that we found this place.  All of the dishes were delicious.

It was very good, I enjoyed making the samosas.  An excellent workshop.

Professional but still homely.  I loved it!  Made things I have always wanted to make.  I now appreciate Indian food even more!  I enjoyed making Gol Guppe and tasting Amritsari Fish.  I also liked how we could use, make, freezer etc.  We shall certainly come along again.  I would definitely recommend a workshop with Pure Punjabi - its our 2nd time here and will not be our last.  I recommend the packs of freshly made up mixes too - they continue to inspire back home!
Fiona N.

I've done a workshop before and loved it, so had high expectations, it was fabulous and excellent, I will continue to recommend.  All the dishes were incredible but the one I liked the most is Amritsari Fish.  There was a perfect dish to education ratio, e.g. we didn't race though tons of dishes without learning anything, but we still came away with a lot of food that felt like it was diverse.  We will be back, thank you.
Amelia N.

Excellent!  Great instructions.  Brilliant food.  I enjoyed Amritsari Fish the most.  Really worth doing, I highly recommend.
Colin H.

Brilliant, great food and tips. The workshop was everything promised plus!  Excellent.  I enjoyed the Amritsari Fish the most.  All the other dishes were good.
Chris K.

I loved every  minute, thank you.  Everything was great.  Great food, good teachers, company, making and tasting.  Excellent.  I can't choose which dish I enjoyed the most.  Thank you for making us so welcome again.
Sian T.

This is my second visit to Pure Punjabi and it was as much fun and informative as the first visit.  Excellent.  Loved all the dishes.  Fantastic morning, well run experience.  I'll hopefully be back for another course in the future.  Thank you.                                                        Liam W.
